Quilt in a Day founder and television quilter Eleanor Burns and her sister Patricia Knoechel, both Zelienople natives, will present a program to raise funds for the Harmony Museum on May 26 and for the Zelienople Historical Society on May 27. The annual Harmony Museum event from 10 a.m. to noon in Stewart Hall, 218 Mercer St., is nearly sold out. The next day’s program in Zelienople begins at 6 p.m. in St. Peter’s Reformed Church., 320 E. The Old Stone House will again be the site of “Foodways Programs,” a series of summer-fall cooking classes. All classes run 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with participants receiving hands-on training. Bake oven classes are available Saturday and June 20, July 18, Aug. 15 and Sept. 19. Open hearth cooking classes will be May 23, July 11, Aug. 8, Sept. 12 and Oct. 10. This season, Meadowcroft celebrates the 60th anniversary of Avella farmer Albert Miller’s discovery of the Rockshelter, which is billed as the oldest site of human habitation in North America.
