Butler’s Swidzinski cards 32

Hunter Swidzinski was medalist with a 32 on Tuesday as Butler’s boys golf team defeated North Hills, 179-193, at Clover Hill.

Blake Scott had a 35 and Boden Lenyk 36 for the Golden Tornado. Nathan Patsilevas paced North Hills with a 36 while Kasey Toia and Logan Filipcic carded 38.

Mars 191, Seneca Valley 198 — Colin Stevenson shot a 36 for the Planets while Marcos Lopez managed a 35 for the Raiders at Cranberry Highlands.

Freeport 198, Valley 270 — Cam Zigo led the Yellowjackets (4-1, 4-0) with a 36. Aiden Bauman carded a 38, Stephen Evans 39, Jaydn Diehl 42 and Lillie Snow 43 in the win.

Knoch’s Mason Phillips shot 2-under 34 at Pheasant Ridge Golf Club on Monday, leading the Knights to a 212-217 boys golf victory against Deer Lakes.

Knoch (2-1, 2-0) faces Leechburg at Butler County Club on Tuesday.

Region 2 Match — Grove City carded a 355 to win the six-team competition at Grove City Country Club. Slippery Rock was fifth with 381.

Trent Davey paced the Rockets with an 86. Mealist honors went to Caden Bender of West Middlesex with a 78.

Girls Golf

Addie Nailler’s 48 paced Mars in a 207-208 section victory over Shaler on Monday.

Also scoring for the Planets were Makenna Myler (51), Addison Pangonis (52) and Emily Barent (56).

Armstrong 204, Butler 214 — Paige Ponteous earned medalist honors with a 40, but the Golden Tornado (3-2, 2-1) lost the match by 10 strokes. Butler takes on Fox Chapel at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Pittsburgh Field Club.

KSAC Mega Match — Mariska Shunk was medalist with a 43 as Moniteau won the Mega Match at Hi-Level Golf Course with a team score of 136. Kendall Sankey had a 45 and Jesse Stocks a 48 for the Warriors.

Union/A-C Valley finished second with a 174. Ruby Watson carded a 49 for the Falcon Knights.
