Joseph Comella Jr.

Joseph Martin Comella Jr., 85, of Butler passed away Saturday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Dec. 6, 1930, he was the son of the late Joseph Martin Comella Sr. and Mary Kronmiller.

Joe Proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He retired as a truck driver for the U.S. Bulk Mail Service.

Joe volunteered at the adult day care at the Butler VA Medical Center, where he participated in several activities. He enjoyed going to bingo and doing crossword puzzles and word searches. He was an amazing husband, father and grandfather, who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Edith Lillian (Gibson) Comella, who he married May 9, 1981; his children, Pennie Richards, Cindy Lisle, Pamela Fosnight, Patricia Repp and Kenneth Comella; his grandchildren, Ali Crouse, Brion Benson and Valerie Benson, Brandan Divosevic, Matthew Reep and Mark Repp; his great-grandchildren, Daniel Benson, Quinn Benson and Lily Repp; and his brothers, John “Jack” Comella and Warren Comella.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Koblak; his brother, Francis “Frank” Comella; his son, Johnny Crouse; his grandson, Jeremy Richards; his brother-in-law, Homer Gibson; and two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Gibson and Kathy Beach.

COMILLA — The family of Joseph Martin Comella Jr., who died Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, will welcome friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Boylan Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.
