Zach Bear's grand slam in the top of the seventh inning powered Mars to a 12-9 win over East Butler in a Butler County American Legion baseball winners bracket semifinal game Wednesday evening.

Bear ended the night with seven RBI.

Ryan Geibel doubled twice and scored twice for East Butler.

In other games:

• Matt Maloy struck out eight batters and added two base hits and an RBI as Center Township eliminated Butler City with an 11-6 victory in a losers bracket contest.

• The Saxonburg-Meridian losers bracket game was rained out Wednesday and will be made up today, with Meridian the host team. The winner will face Center Township in an elimination game Friday.
