Freeport’s golf team shot a 205 Wednesday — plenty low enough to win.

The Yellowjackets’ opponent, Leechburg, had to forfeit as it did not have enough golfers. Cam Zigo was medalist for Freeport with a 37.

Matt Ziembicki-Reedy and Aiden Bauman both carded 41 for Freeport (2-0) while Ethan Crooks shot a 42, Lillie Snow a 44.

Region 2 Match — Grove City and West Middlesex both carded 341 at this six-team region match at Tam O’ Shanter. Wilmington was third with 348, followed by Sharon with 366, Slippery Rock 394 and Sharpsville 412.

Grove City’s Isaac Allen earned medalist honors with a 74. Trent Davey paced Slippery Rock with an 86.

Hampton 194, Mars 196 — Peter Kramer was medalist for Hampton with a 35. Lukas Singh led Mars with a 36.
