Alice Lorraine Claypool Simcik
Alice Lorraine Claypool Simcik, 91, of North Buffalo Township went home to be with the Lord on May 2.
She was born on June 19, 1921, in West Winfield, and was a daughter of the late Clarence John Claypool and Helen Shaner Claypool.
She retired from the Butler County Mushroom Farm in 1981 after 29 years of service.
She was a member of the Union Baptist Church. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was a wonderful cook and baker. She enjoyed camping and spent the summers in Tidioute, Pa., with her entire family. She and her husband, John, had camped for more than 30 years. She also camped at Fort Myers Beach in the winters.
She was a dedicated Christian. In her free time she enjoyed reading Christian novels, which she read until she passed away.
She was the wife of the late John Simcik. They were married for 71 years.
She is survived by four daughters, Janice and Charles “Bert” Platt of Mercer, Judy and Lee Harbison of Cabot, Joan and Russell Wilson of Kittanning, and Donna and Rayburn Toy of Union, Mo.
She was blessed with 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
SIMCIK — Visitation for Alice Lorraine Claypool Simcik, who passed away Thursday, May 2, 2013, will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. Friday at the Union Baptist Church, Kittanning. Interment will be at Lawnhaven Cemetery.Arrangements were entrusted to the Mantini Funeral Home, Ford City.
