Diamond Park’s fountain damaged, repaired

Diamond Park’s fountain was damaged earlier this week, according to the county Sheriff’s Office.

“There were a bunch of children and there was an older, maybe, 18-year-old in there playing around,” Sheriff Mike Slupe said.

According to Slupe, their summer fun resulted in damage to one of the nozzles, forcing crews to shut down the fountain to prevent harm to the pump.

Repairs were completed immediately, but Slupe is reminding residents that the fountain is not a toy.

“It’s not made for that type of entertainment. It is a visual and audio thing where you can sit and listen to the water flowing,” he said. “It’s not a wading pool.”
