Augustine J. 'Augie' Farinelli
Augustine J. “Augie” Farinelli, 83, of Center Township passed away peacefully Thursday surrounded by his loving family.
Born on June 20, 1931, in Connoquenessing, he was the son of the late John and Alvera Piscitelli Farinelli.
Augie was a lifelong and faithful member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Aliquippa where he enjoyed mowing the grass on the property.
He retired from his job as a steel worker at J&L Steel, also known as LTV Steel. Augie was a farmer by heart and was passionate about gardening and raising chickens and, in his free time, he enjoyed square-dancing.
He will be remembered as a hard worker and avid storyteller with an amazing ability to connect with anyone he met and affectionately coin nicknames for them.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Nelle (McNeely) Farinelli of Center Township; his four children, Kathy Vranesevich of Center Township, Shirley (Roy) Brednick of Flower Mound, Texas, Larry Farinelli of Aliquippa and Diane (Ivan) Spehnjak of Industry; his stepdaughter, Melanie (Thomas) Naugle and their children, Betsy and Kate; his four grandchildren, Jessica (Kenneth) LeCerf, Jeremy Vranesevich and Sean and Stephanie Brednick; his great-granddaughter, Riley LeCerf; his three brothers, Philip (Arlene) Farinelli of Evans City, George (Norma) Farinelli of Denison, Texas, and Paul (Cathie) Farinelli of Kittanning; his three sisters, Virginia Denny of Rolling Prairie, Ind., Ida Kudamik of Mars and Caroline Urnosky of Clearmont, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews, friends and extended family members.
In addition to his parents, Augie was preceded in death by his first wife, Olive Bieber Farinelli, who passed away in 2004; his son-in-law, George Vranesevich; his five brothers; and two sisters.
Farinelli — The friends of Augustine J. “Augie” Farinelli, who passed away Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.A celebration of life ceremony will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Patrice Weirick officiating.
