Marybelle Montgomery
Marybelle Montgomery, 90, formerly of Forestville, died Friday evening at Orchard Manor, where she had been living.
A daughter of Chester Monroe and Mary Jamison Snyder, she was born July 13, 1925, in Hillsville.
Mrs. Montgomery had worked as a switchboard operator for George Junior Republic until her retirement in 1990.
She had been a member of St. Anthony Church and the Christian Mothers of the church. She was a former member of the Harrisville Lions Club. She enjoyed quilting, camping and cooking for her family.
On Aug. 2, 1945, she married William R. Montgomery. He died Sept. 5, 2000.
Surviving are five sons, William R. (Cathy) Montgomery of Crawfordville, Fla., David A. (Jean) Montgomery of California, Robert G. (Janie) Montgomery of Harrisville, Ronald L. (Debbie) Montgomery of Monroe Falls, Ohio, and Richard G. (Janine) Montgomery of Prospect; two daughters, Vickie L. and Valerie L. Montgomery, both of Maine; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Paul (Sandra) Snyder of Florida and Leo (Loretta) Snyder of Maryland; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Mark E. Montgomery; two sisters, Lois and Ruth Snyder; and six brothers, Francis, William, Donald, J. Roy, Richard and Monroe Snyder Jr.
MONTGOMERY — Friends of Marybelle Montgomery, who died Friday, Jan. 22, 2016, will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Jamison Funeral Home, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville.A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony Church, Forestville, with the Rev. Kevin G. Poecking presiding.
