Kristen Jones and Karyn McCready, members of the Slippery Rock University women's track team, were named PSAC Women's Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively.

Jones ran the 200 meters in 25.73 seconds at the Duke Invitational over the weekend. Her time is second-fastest recorded in the PSAC this spring. She also ran the 100 in 12.65.

McCready placed second in the javelin at the Duke Invitational with a NCAA provisional qualifying throw of 152 feet, 1 inch. Her toss is the longest by an NCAA Division II participant this spring.

Moniteau graduate Jessica Flick, a sophomore on the Grove City College women's softball team, had a pair of run-scoring singles Tuesday in a 3-2 win over Thiel.Grove City (3-2) swept a doubleheader from the Tomcats, winning the nightcap, 2-1.

Slippery Rock High School graduate Greg Grupp, a senior designated hitter for the Grove City College baseball team, homered, doubled and singled in a recent 10-3 win over Thiel.

The Butler YMCA's 400-yard freestyle relay team of Freeport's Brendan McGregor, Peters Township's Daniel Young, Butler's Matt Galante and Josh Barthlow finished eighth at the YMCA national meet in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.They swam a time of 3 minutes, 12.27 seconds, breaking a 14-year-old Butler YMCA record.

Mars graduate Ryan Floyd, a junior on the Waynesburg College men's tennis team, teamed with Nate Smucker to win their team-best seventh doubles match against Bethany (W.Va.) recently.Waynesburg is 8-6 overall, 1-2 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference.
