Frances Georgina Leighty

Frances Georgina Leighty, 90, of Butler passed away Tuesday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

Born Nov. 30, 1926, in Parker, she was a daughter of the late Franklin Reed and Mary Jane McGregor McNaughton.

She graduated from Butler High School in 1946.

Frances was employed for 23 years as a clerk at Pepper's Flowers, and she was formerly employed as a sales clerk at Montgomery Ward.

She loved music, flowers, bowling, card club and the many years she spent in Florida. She was known for her hospitality, her macaroni salad and her Christmas cookies.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Peters of Butler and Pat Willis and her husband, Doug, of St. Louis, Mo.; and two grandchildren, Amy and Lacey Schuller, both of St. Louis, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Leighty, who died May 3, 1993; two brothers, John McNaughton and Joe McNaughton; two sisters, Jean Dorcy and Katharine Blick; and one son-in-law, Sam Peters.

LEIGHTY — Friends of Frances Georgina Leighty, who died Tuesday, May 2, 2017, will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler.A blessing service will follow at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
