Public hearing set for GetGo liquor license

Adams Township Board of Supervisors set a date for an upcoming hearing to determine whether a proposed GetGo at the intersection of Three Degree Road and Route 228 would be able to get a liquor license.

The meeting will be at 7 p.m. on Jan. 10.

“Tonight, we are not voting on anything,” said Chairman Russ Ford. “We are required by law to set a hearing in regards to this when we have been publicly notified.”

The GetGo proposal plan was rejected earlier this year by the Board of Supervisors and is amid the appeals process, but has not yet come up on the docket. The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board hearing is separate from GetGo’s land use plan.

“We requested the fact that (since) the plan was not approved, that they continue this hearing to another date, and (GetGo) said no, they wanted it scheduled,” said Ford. “We are now faced with having to schedule it.”
