Ethel Louise Mitchell, 78, of Butler passed away suddenly Saturday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born March 25, 1933, in Indiana County, the daughter of the late Mickey and Anna Vedder.

Ethel was an avid bingo player and loved dogs, birds, fishing and hunting.

She was loving mother to her son, David B. (Colleen) Mitchell of Portersville; beloved grandmother to two grandsons, Ryan and Justin (Tanni); three stepgrandsons, Steven, Brandon and Ryan; sister to Sue (Jim) Caylor-Sexton of Creekside; and aunt to a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Blair D. Mitchell, who died July 13, 2005; infant twin sons; a sister, Dorothy Zaleski; and a brother, Mitch Vedder.

Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
