Hohn

George M. Hohn, 84, of Oakland Township died at 2:10 p.m. Monday.

Born April 9, 1923, in Oakland Township, he was the son of Charles Edward and Sue Ann Dolan Hohn.

He served in the Air Force during World War II and flew 72 missions.

Mr. Hohn retired from production at Koppers in Petrolia on Sept. 30, 1987.

He was a member of the North Butler Presbyterian Church, Oakland Township. He was a life member of the VFW Post 249 and belonged to the East Butler Fire Hall, the B-26 Marauders and the Chicora Moose.

He played baseball for years and enjoyed gardening and golfing.

Surviving are his wife, Helen Hohn, whom he married Sept. 16, 1949; five daughters, Mrs. John (Gretchen) Clouse of Chicora, Mrs. James (Sue) Love of Butler, Mrs. Richard (Mary Lou) Bresnehan of Chicora, Mrs. Raymond (Rebecca) Elliott of Chicora and Nancy Schiebel of Chicora; five sons, George Melvin Hohn of West Sunbury, Charles Martin Hohn of Chicora, F. Shane Hohn of Butler, John E. Hohn of Butler and Richard Hohn of Chicora; 17 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Irene Ponton of Columbus, Ohio, and a brother, John M. Hohn of Chicora.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, two brothers and a sister.

<B>HOHN </B>— Friends of George M. Hohn, who died Monday, Aug. 27, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St. Services will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Mary Sickels, his church pastor, officiating.
