North Catholic High School
After considering the input from members of the senior class and parents, the North Catholic High School administration has decided to postpone graduation until later in the summer in the hope of having an in-person graduation. Graduation is tentatively scheduled for Friday, July 24, providing CDC guidelines for gatherings allow.
Further details regarding graduation specifics will be sent to families. If a true in-person graduation does not fall within the CDC guidelines at the time, graduation will be moved to a virtual format and set July 31. To plan for this possibility, students will get a photograph taken in their their caps and gowns at the school.
Student speakers will be Aaron Ventresca, valedictorian, and Ryan Feczko, salutatorian.
Aaron, the son of Lisa and Kenneth Ventresca of Gibsonia, has enjoyed taking a leadership role in the Drama Club, Mock Trial Club and Trivia Team. As an avid theatre performer outside of school, Aaron studies at the Pittsburgh CLO Academy of Musical Theater, and he has performed at both the amateur and professional level. He is a National Merit Scholar Finalist, National Honor Society Scholarship Winner, Coca-Cola Scholar, and member of American MENSA.
Aaron will attend Princeton University in the fall.
Ryan, the son of Mark and Stacy Feczko, of Franklin Park, served as president of Student Council and National Honor Society. He organized North Catholic's inaugural senior trip to New York City.
Ryan played baseball, basketball and golf, earning 11 varsity letters. He received the 2020 WPIAL/James Collins' Scholar-Athlete Scholarship. As a senior and co-captain of the basketball team, he helped lead the Trojans to the 3A WPIAL Championship in March. As a sophomore, he led the Trojans to the WPIAL 2A Baseball Championship and was named Pittsburgh Post-Gazette 2A Player of the Year.
He will attend Davidson College and will be a pitcher on the Wildcat baseball team.
