Hugh Peter Hagan
Hugh Peter Hagan, 90, of Zelienople, formerly of Pittsburgh, passed away on Friday while under the care of the St. John's Specialty Care Center in Mars.
Born July 30, 1922, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Hugh and Mary (Brown) Hagan.
Mr. Hagan proudly served his country as an Army Airborne Ranger during World War II. He and his unit had the privilege and honor of liberating several concentration and POW camps.
After 30 years of dedicated service, he retired as a police officer from the Swissvale Police Department. Upon retirement, he served as a crossing guard for many years.
He leaves behind his son, Shawn and his wife, Debra, and grandchildren, Alexandria, Isabella and Shawn Jr. of Zelienople; son, Michael and his wife, Melody, of Arkansas; daughter, Patty Klein and grandchildren, Emily and Kim of Florida; daughter Kathy Neilson and grandchildren, Linda Lee and April of Florida; his brother, Larry Hagan and his wife, Betty, of California; and his loving companion, Marla Bennett of Zelienople.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, James and Regis Hagan.
HAGAN — Committal prayers with military honors will be celebrated for Hugh Peter Hagan, who passed away Friday, July 5, 2013, at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, Pa., with the Rev.
