Make-A-Wish seeking volunteers
A group that makes wishes come true for children living with critical illnesses is in need of volunteers.
Make-A-Wish of Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia, which includes Butler County, will host virtual information sessions at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, and 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, about volunteering with the organization.
Wish volunteers must be at least 21 years old, pass a criminal-background check and attend a training session.
Wish Team members are the faces of Make-A-Wish in their communities and work together when assigned to a child in their area by meeting with the family and aiding in determining the most suitable wish for the child.
Those interested in becoming a wish volunteer should sign up via a volunteer inquiry form at wish.org/greaterpawv/vol.
The local Make-A-Wish office will contact each perspective volunteer with the next steps.
Make-A-Wish of Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia has fulfilled more than 20,500 wishes and is one of the most active chapters in the country.
