The Butler Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and Junior Auxiliary recently named their volunteer of the year and candy striper of the year awards.

Edith Ford of Butler received the 2005 volunteer of the year award. A member of the auxiliary since the late 1980s, she has donated more than 8,500 hours of service.She currently serves as an ambassador for the auxiliary and spends many hours working in the Hostess Shoppe.The candy striper of the year award went to

<b>Megan Saeler</b>, the daughter of Donald and Shirley Saeler of Fenelton. A candy striper for four years, she is a recent graduate of Butler High School.She plans to attend Butler County Community College and pursue a career as a physical therapist.The Butler Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and Junior Auxiliary donated 26,800 hours of service in the past year. The auxiliary includes 310 women and men, and the junior auxiliary has 44 members.For information about these organizations, contact Kim Reamer, director of volunteer services, at 724-284-4342.---
