D. Jane “Glitter Gran” Baker

D. Jane “Glitter Gran” Baker

D. Jane “Glitter Gran” Baker, 94, of Zelienople went to be with the Lord April 27 after a brief illness at UPMC Passavant in Cranberry Township.

Hallelujah! Hallelujah! She has gone to see the King! Oh my darlings, Jane is finally with her Father God and Lord Jesus.

During her hospital stay, the joy of the Lord was evident to all who came to visit and had the opportunity to talk with her.

Born April 14, 1924, in Windber, Pa., Jane was the daughter of the late Samuel D. Braughler and Ida I. Weber Braughler.

Jane was a 1942 graduate of Zelienople High School.

She married her high school sweetheart, Butch, three days after he returned from serving in World War II.

It was her delight to love and care for her daughters, grandchildren and extended family and friends.

Right out of high school, Jane became a beautician. After her daughters were older, she worked as a crossing guard.

She loved to give book reviews for both church and community groups.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Evans City.

To know her was to love her. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

Jane leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters, Candice Follen and her husband, Glenn, of Las Vegas, Nev., and Carrie Baker of Zelienople; her grandchildren, Regan S. Hartman and her husband, Ryan, Damon Follen and his wife Jo, Tai Courtemanche and her husband, Sean, and Ian Brown; her great-grandchildren, Max and Morgan Harris and Harper Follen; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and other “adopted” family members.

In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Walter L. “Butch” Baker; and her daughter, Cynthia Joan Baker, who died in 1955; and her siblings, Pastor John T. Braughler and Louise Wise.

Thank you for your prayers and blessings and your beautiful words shared with us all. While a celebration is in full swing in the heavenlies right now, we will celebrate her life together, soon, and look forward to your presence there with us. God is so good!
