Annie Laurie Arkie
Annie Laurie Arkie, 82, passed away quietly Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Home, following a lengthy illness.
Born Oct. 12, 1924, in Mount Pleasant, Tenn., she was the daughter of Seth R. and Annie Amanda Pollock Brown.
She had very diverse professional experiences. She worked as a photographer, an assistant editor for the U. S. Government, and as a real estate agent. She was also an amateur poet, artist and sculptor. She loved traveling and had spent extended time in Europe and Hawaii.
She is survived by five children, Karen Southerland of Georgia, Kurt Johnson of New Mexico, Kristen Chestnut of California, Christopher Jones of Washington, Rock Arkie of Evans City; and four grandchildren, Mattie, Just and Heidi Jones, and Toby Johnson.
She is also survived by a sister, Kathryn Baker, and three brothers, Alvin, Roy and Seth Brown, all of Tennessee.
<B>ARKIE</B> — Friends of Annie Laurie Arkie, who died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007, will be received at noon Wednesday for a memorial mass at St. Alexis Roman Catholic Church in Wexford with the Rev.
