H. Jeanette Smith
H. Jeanette Smith, 82, of Slippery Rock died at 3:12 a.m. Saturday at UPMC North West in Seneca.
She was born in Slippery Rock on Feb. 18, 1929, a daughter of John Hamilton Boyd and Pearl Blanche Claypoole Boyd, who are deceased.
Jeanette was married to Walter Irvine Smith from May 19, 1951, until his death on July 12, 1978.
She graduated from Slippery Rock High School in 1947, and she completed a two-year business program at Grove City College in 1950.
Jeanette was a member of the Highland Presbyterian Church, Slippery Rock. She was the office manager and accountant at the Cheeseman Chevrolet Olds Dealership in Slippery Rock, retiring in 1991.
She liked to refinish furniture, do decorative painting and was an avid reader until she lost her vision.
She is survived by one daughter, Kelly Rae Smith of Slippery Rock, and two nieces, Janice Minor of Cleveland and Jacqueline Garbett of Pittsburgh
Also surviving are a number of other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She is preceded in death by her mother, father, husband, and brother, Russell C. Boyd.

Jeanette Smith, who died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, will be received at <B>SMITH FUNERAL HOME</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the 11 a.m. service at the funeral home. The Rev. Albert Stuart, pastor of the Highland Presbyterian Church, will preside. Interment will follow in Slippery Rock Cemetery.
