Elizabeth Cockroft Baumgart, 92, passed away at the VNA Inpatient Hospice at 2:55 a.m. Sunday.

She was born April 8, 1918, in Alberta, Canada, to the late John Emmett Cockroft and Margaret Robinson Cockroft Collins.

Mrs. Baumgart worked in the food service department for the Butler School District.

She was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church.

She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, puzzles, cards and most important, her loving family.

Mrs. Baumgart is survived by a son, Norbert J. (Gabriele) Baumgart of Warren, Pa.; daughters, Mary Lou Barnes of Butler, Cecilia Kennedy and her husband, Thomas, of Butler, Catherine Kohlmeyer and her husband, Gregory, of Butler and Carolyn Kudamik and her husband, Gregory, of New Hill, N.C.; a sister, Grace Fay of Butler; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert P. Baumgart, who she married Feb. 6, 1937, and who preceded her in death on March 3, 2001; one son, Thomas Richard Baumgart; her son in-law, Jack Barnes; four brothers; and two sisters.

<B>BAUMGART</B> — A memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Elizabeth Cockroft Baumgart, who died Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church with the Rev.
