Jean L. Anderson, 80, of Butler passed away at 7:46 p.m. Sunday at her home.

She was born on Nov. 20, 1932, in East Brady to the late John E. Lovett and Oma (Allen) Lovett.

Mrs. Anderson was a graduate of East Brady High School and went on to earn an associate degree in dental hygiene at West Liberty University.

She worked as a dental hygienist at various dentists in Western Pennsylvania, and at the Sewickley Valley Elementary Schools, retiring in 1985.

Mrs. Anderson was a former Eastern Star member and was a member of the Syria Shrine Recreational Vehicle Club. She served as a deaconess at the Fremont Avenue Presbyterian Church in Bellevue, Pa., and was a member of the Hill United Presbyterian Church in Butler. Mrs. Anderson enjoyed traveling in their motor home and her grandchildren.

Mrs. Anderson is survived by her husband, John W. Anderson, who she married June 28, 1952; two sons, Jon Marc Anderson and his wife, Jo, of Butler and Steven Thomas Anderson and his wife, Tracy, of Karns City; four grandchildren, Lauren, Renae, Debora and Luke Anderson; three nieces, Lynn Leposki of East Brady, Nancy Ray of Temecula, Calif., and Diana Webb of Temecula, Calif.; three nephews, John F. McClay of Mobile, Ala., Richard Anderson of East Brady and John Lovett Jr. of San Diego, Calif.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, John A. Lovett.

ANDERSON — Friends of Jean L. Anderson, who passed away Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, will be received, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Michael Winship officiating. Private burial will take place in the Rimersburg Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St., Butler, PA 16001.Private online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
