Darla Kay Watson

Darla Kay Watson, 75, of West Sunbury passed away at 10:12 a.m. Wednesday at UPMC Montefiore in Pittsburgh following a short illness.

She was born Sept. 3, 1937, in Ellwood City. She was the daughter of the late Clyde G. Kauf and the late Winona M. Perine Kauf.

She attended the Concord Presbyterian Church. She spent many years employed at small grocery stores throughout the area, including Viola's, Thompson's Market and Bank's Market. She retired from Zanella's Mini Market due to her health.

She was a supporter of the North Washington Rodeo, where she volunteered for many years. She enjoyed fishing and trapping with her brother Bill and farming with her brother Butch. She also enjoyed time with her grandchildren and family.

She is survived by two sons, Ronald E. (Denise) Watson of West Sunbury and Curt A. (Pam) Watson of Boyers; three grandchildren, Darrin and Aimee, Crystal and Dawn; one sister, Mrs. James (Charlotte) Burtner of Butler; and two brothers, Lance “Butch” Kauf and William Kauf, both of West Sunbury.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Watson, who died Dec. 31, 2003; and one brother.

WATSON — Friends of Darla Kay Watson, who passed away Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, will be received at William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Kevin Channel of the Concord Presbyterian Church officiating.Burial will be in the Concord Cemetery.Information also is available at www.youngfuneralhomes.com.
