Esther Jean Elliott
Esther Jean Elliott, 80, of Butler passed away at 5:15 p.m. Saturday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.
She was born March 6, 1935, in Butler County to the late Derwood Pennington and Violet (Rearick) Pennington Porter.
Mrs. Elliott attended the Community Alliance Church. She worked in Human Resources at II-VI Inc., Saxonburg.
Mrs. Elliott entered many quilt and baking projects in the fair and farm show and won many awards for her items. She loved sewing, baking, quilting, gardening and socializing. Mrs. Elliott also enjoyed camping and had traveled to 48 states.
Mrs. Elliott is survived by one daughter, Jacquelynn Vidmar of Butler; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; one brother, Edward Pennington and his wife, Judie, of Bradenton, Fla.; and number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James O. Elliott Jr., who she married on July 24, 1952, and who passed away on March 4, 2012; two sons, James and David Elliott; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Jackie Harbison.
ELLIOTT — According to the wishes of Esther Jean Elliott, who died Saturday, May 9, 2015, there will be no public visitation.A memorial service will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E.
