Zelienople chamber is homeless
ZELIENOPLE — The Zelienople Harmony Chamber of Commerce temporarily has no office.
The chamber had rented an office on the second floor of the Zelienople borough building, but it moved out at the end of 2014.
“They informed us the space was no longer available,” said director Jennifer Ackerman.
Borough manager Don Pepe said he needed more space for the borough staff and asked the chamber’s board if the borough could have the office back.
Ackerman, who is the lone staff member for the chamber, said she is working from her home while the chamber looks for a new office in Zelienople or Harmony.
The chamber doesn’t necessarily need a storefront or a large space, just a one-room office, Ackerman said.
The office in the borough building typically did not get many visitors. Occasionally people would stop in to ask about membership or about businesses and attractions, she said.
The chamber has a 13-member board and 150 to 175 members.
Even without an office, the director can be reached through the chamber’s website, zhchamber.com.
