Elfriede H. Fleeger
Elfriede H. Fleeger, 83, formerly of the YWCA Personal Care Residence, Butler, passed away Saturday at 2:25 p.m. at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.
She was born March 19, 1929, in McKees Rocks to the late Karl Penisch and Maria (Maier) Penisch.
Mrs. Fleeger was a graduate of Butler High School and a member of the St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was a homemaker, and for a short time she worked at the former Montgomery Ward store. She enjoyed gardening.
Mrs. Fleeger is survived by two sons, Robert Fleeger and his wife, Dixie, and Harold E. Fleeger and his wife, Carol, both of Butler; one daughter, Pamela S. Stein and her husband, Barry, of Butler; nine grandchildren, Robert E. Fleeger and his wife, Elizabeth, Ryan E. Fleeger, Faithanne E. Fleeger, Reese E. Fleeger, Jason Fleeger and his wife, Sara, Chad Fleeger and his wife, Bobbie, Brandon Stein and his wife, Brandi, Bradley Stein and his wife, Marlene, and Bryan Stein; four great-grandchildren, Evan Stein, Emily Stein, Jeremiah Stein and Kerrington Fleeger; one sister, Mary Louise Penisch of Turtle Creek, Pa.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Fleeger, who she married Nov. 1, 1947, and who passed away Dec. 5, 2002; and her stepmother, Christine Penisch.
FLEEGER — Friends of Elfriede H. Fleeger, who passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Alden Towberman officiating.
