Richard E. Fair
Richard E. Fair, 85, of Butler died Thursday evening at Chicora Medical Center.
Born Oct. 14, 1929, in Chicora, he was a son of the late Raymond Fair and Alice (Gould) Fair.
He had worked as a crane operator in Plant II shipping for Armco Steel Plant in Butler, retiring after 30 years.
He was a member of VFW Post 249 in Butler and had enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding four-wheelers, snowmobiles and off-road motorcycles.
A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army.
Surviving are his wife, Martha M. (Alwine) Fair, who he married in 1971; three stepchildren, Patricia (Charles) Rodgers, Jr., Doris Pintea and Michael Adams, all of Butler; two step-grandchildren, Constance Rodgers of New York and Charles E. (Autumn) Rodgers III of Butler; four step-great-grandchildren, Louis, Dominic, Charles IV and Dylan; two sisters, Laura (George) Brothers of Chicora and Shirley Protzman of Fenelton; and one brother, Darrell (Dot) Fair of Florida.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Keith Fair; a brother, Ronald Fair; and a step-granddaughter, Cathy Plaisted.
FAIR — Friends of Richard E. Fair, who died Thursday, May 28, 2015, will be received from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Internment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.
