Norma L. Coursen
Norma L. Coursen, 76, of Grove Manor, formerly of Barkeyville, passed away Friday at the Grove City Medical Center.
Born Dec. 6, 1936, in Grove City, she was the daughter of Norman and Edna Cross.
Norma received her education at Slippery Rock High School.
She was married to Jack D. Coursen, who passed away July 14, 2002.
Norma was a cafeteria aid at Victory Elementary School for a number of years. She also was a devoted housewife and mother to her family.
Norma was a member of the Women of the Moose 83 in Franklin. She was active in the Scrubgrass Senior Center, taking many bus trips with the other ladies from the center. Norma and her husband traveled throughout the United States, having visited Alaska and Hawaii. She enjoyed going camping and fishing. Norma was a very crafty person and most recently enjoyed scrap booking.
She was a member of the Barkeyville Methodist Church, and she also attended the Barkeyville Church of God.
She is survived by a son, Jay A. Coursen and his wife, Lori, of Sandy Lake; her grandchildren, Joe Coursen and his fiancee, Jessie Smith, of Clintonville, Cindy Knox and her husband, Rick, of Polk, Wendy Coursen Moffitt of Clintonville, Shane Coursen and his girlfriend, Alyssa Ferlin, of Jackson Center, and Brian Coursen and Pamela Coursen, both of Sandy Lake; and great-grandchildren, Joseph Coursen, Trinity Coursen, Loren and Kylie Knox and Gage Moffitt.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Richard L. Coursen, who passed away Dec. 6, 1995, and Brian D. Coursen, who passed away Aug. 24, 1999; and two sisters, Alice Thompson and Janet Cannon.
COURSEN — The family of Norma L. Coursen, who died Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, will receive friends at the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, 109 Emlenton St., Clintonville, from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, with the funeral to follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Mary Ann McConnell of the Barkeyville United Methodist Church will officiate.
