Mildred R. 'Mim' McGrogan
Mildred R. “Mim” McGrogan, 88, of Upper St. Clair, formerly of Butler, passed away Thursday.
She was the beloved wife of 62 years to the late John F. (Jack) McGrogan, and loving mother of six children, Maureen (Ed) Rooch, Margaret (John) Boben, Alice (Terry) Stockwell, Jack (Lesley) McGrogan, Joe (Von) McGrogan and Maribeth (Jim) DeShields. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Born on May 29, 1926, in Carnegie, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Bianchi.
In addition to her husband, Jack, she was preceded in death by her brother, Lou, and her beloved grandson, Allen Rooch.
Mim was a faithful member of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church in Butler.
She was an avid reader and a great cook, who loved traveling to see her children. She enjoyed the simple things in life, like family dinners, good books, a “weed-free” lawn and a well-maintained home.
Mim gave her husband, Jack, and her children unconditional love and support, imparted with her depression-era sensibilities. She was a marvelous mother-in-law. She will be missed by all of us who were lucky enough to have been a part of her life.
McGrogan — A Mass of Christian burial for Mildred R. “Mim” McGrogan, who passed away Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014, will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Louise DeMarillac Church, 320 McMurray Road, Pittsburgh. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Scott Township.If desired, the family requests that donations be made in Mim's name to Family Hospice and Palliative Care, 50 Moffett St., Pittsburgh, PA 15243.Arrangements are by the David J. Henney Funeral Home, South Park.
