Rudolph “Rudy” Vran-kovich

Rudolph “Rudy” Vran-kovich of New Brighton and formerly of College Hill, who will always be 49 years old, passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack on Saturday.

Rudy was also known as Blood, R.J., Zuk, Reggie Hammond, Dr. Strange Love, Jimmy Valentine and Bobby Bolivia by his many friends.

Rudy was a professional golfer and director of the first tee at Blackhawk Golf Course in Chippewa Township and gave lessons at Rowan Road Driving Range in Cranberry Township. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, having served during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Matthew and Erin Vrankovich of North Sewickley Township, and Jonathan Vrankovich of Chippewa Township; six grandchildren, Matty, Emma, Ava, Nicholas, Regan and Jesse Vrankovich; a loving companion, Terri Dougherty of New Brighton and her daughter, Katie Gongaware of Ohioville; one brother, Mark Omogrosso of Beaver Falls; two sisters, Natalia Blinn of New Brighton and Dorothy Kachur of Center Township; one sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Omogrosso of Beaver Falls; Sam Vrankovich and several uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews and a mother-in-law, Pearl M. Young of North Sewickley Township.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph John Vrankovich, Violet (Hayden) Vrankovich Omogrosso and Smokey Joe Omogrosso; two brothers, Nicholas Vrankovich and Joseph Omogrosso; and his father-in-law, Henry E. Young.

VRANKOVICH — Friends of Rudolph “Rudy” Vrankovich, who died Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015, will be received Tuesday from 4 to 9 p.m. in the HILL AND KUNSELMAN FUNERAL HOME, 3801 Fourth Ave., College Hill, Beaver Falls, where prayers will be recited Wednesday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St. Monica Parish, College Hill.Private interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, New Brighton.Military honors will be conducted by the veterans honor guard Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the church.For more information, visit www.hillandkunselman.com.
