Experts share treasure trove of Jeep history
Each year the Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival hosts a history speaker series to educate festival participants about the Jeep’s heritage.
This year’s presentations, sponsored by Hobby Express, will include topics such as the conception of the Bantam Jeep, how Jeeps were used during war, restoration projects and more. All presentations are in the Jeep History Building.
Friday
- 11 a.m. — Author and World War II historian David Hustler presents World War II and Vietnam Weapons, Vietnam + Jeeps, WW II re-enacting and equipment
0 Noon — Historian Lee Bortmas presents Butler’s Proud Moment in History, The Bantam Jeep
0 2 p.m. — Canadian author and author of the website CJ3B.info, Derek Redmond presents The Day the CJ-3B Took Over the World
3 p.m. — Jeep historian Julius Lorentzson presents testing and production of the Jeep during World War II. There will be film footage of WWII-era Jeeps being built and tested.
Saturday
- 10 a.m. — Historian Lee Bortmas presents Butler’s Proud Moment in History, the Bantam Jeep
- 11 a.m. — Author and World War II historian David Hustler presents World War II and Vietnam Weapons, Vietnam + Jeeps, WW II re-enacting and equipment
- 12 p.m. — David Logan presents How to Find a Rare Vintage Jeep
- 1 p.m. — Canadian author and author of the website CJ3B.info Derek Redmond presents The Day the CJ-3B Took Over the World
- 2 p.m. — Jeep Historian Julius Lorentzson presents Testing and Production of the Jeep during World War II. Actual film footage of WWII-era Jeeps being built and tested will be shown.
- 3 p.m. — Automotive journalist/photographer Jim Allen presents Jeep Wagon to Wagoneer
