Pgh. Philharmonic returns to BC3

Edward Leonard and the Pittsburgh Philharmonic will perform “Holiday Pops” Dec. 3 at the Succop Theater.

The Pittsburgh Philharmonic Mini-Series at Butler County Community College will feature the Holiday Pops at 2 p.m. Dec. 3 in the Succop Theater on campus.

The concert will include holiday favorites plus Mozart with clarinetist Alex Jones.

Audience members who take an unwrapped present for the annual Toys for Tots drive will receive a free ticket to one of the Philharmonic’s upcoming performances. Those include “Back to School,” with selection from Brahms and Dvorak plus the winner of the Young Artist concerto competition, on March 10;and “Story Time” featuring Rimsky Korsakov’s “Scheherazade” plus the Young Composer Contest winner on May 12.

Tickets are available online at https://itkt.choicecrm.net/templates/BCCC or by calling 724-284-8505. Tickets also are available at the door. Student and senior citizen discounts are available, as are group rates. A local artists market will begin at 1 p.m.

Music director for the Philharmonic is Edward Leonard.

Now in its 42nd season, the Pittsburgh Philharmonic consists of 70 musicians from throughout the tri-state area, ranging in age from 15 to 80, performing great works of classical music at various venues in the region.
