Jack Eugene Lawson
Jack Eugene Lawson, 80, of Liberty Township, Slippery Rock, passed away suddenly Tuesday at Grove City Medical Center due to natural causes.
Jack was born Nov. 11, 1934, in Franklin, Pa., to Albert Lawson and Etta Coxson Lawson. He married Ruby C. McKinley Oct. 16, 1952.
Jack was retired from the Chevrolet dealership in Slippery Rock where he worked for 47 years in management and sales. The dealerships were first called Cheeseman's, later Cheeseman-Fleeger, then Fleeger's and are now called Troy-Alan Chevrolet Buick GMC. He drove a school bus for STA Bus Lines, transporting students.
He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, water skiing, wood working and especially riding his Harley. He is survived by his wife, Ruby, at home in Slippery Rock; one son, Jack D. Lawson and his wife, Kathy, of Slippery Rock; one daughter, Yvonne K. McConnell and her husband, Russell J., of Slippery Rock; one sister, Carol Hoffman of Grove City; three grandchildren, Bridget Kniess and her husband, Josh, Curtis McConnell and his wife, Courtney, and Benjamin Lawson and his wife, Stefanie; and three great-grandchildren, Jacey Kniess, Jaden Kniess and J. D. “Jack” Lawson.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Alberta Boyd.
LAWSON — The family of Jack Eugene Lawson, who died Tuesday, July 21, 2015, will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev.
