Carmella "Lena" Falvo Parisse, 85, of Franklin died at 4 p.m. Friday surrounded by her family at her home.

Born June 5, 1922, in Washington, Pa., she was the daughter of Dominic and Aghetina Maglietta Falvo.

She was an alumna of Washington High School and graduated from Mason Frederick School of Beauty in Pittsburgh in the 1941-42 term.

Mrs. Parisse worked as a beautician with her sister, Patricia, at Pat's Beauty Shop in Washington, Pa.

On Nov. 25, 1948, she married Louis L. Parisse in Washington, Pa., where they lived until 1950. They then moved to Oil City, where they lived from 1950 to 1971, and where she was the coordinator of volunteers for Oil City Hospital for years.

After living in Butler for about seven years, they returned to live in the Franklin area, where she was a faithful member of St. Patrick Church. In more recent years, she was an active member of Franklin YMCA and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. She was heavily involved in and enjoyed her Bible study group, which helped in many community interests and charities.

Mrs. Parisse loved and lived for her children and her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Romano and husband, Bruce, of Madison, Ohio; a son, Samuel L. Parisse of Indiana, Pa.; and three grandchildren, Anne-Marie Layhue and her husband, Josh, of Smithfield, and Michael L. Romano and Kristina P. Romano, both of Madison. She also is survived by a sister, Dolly Passantino of Denver, Colo., and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Anthony, Joseph and Louis, and a sister, Patricia De Rosa.

<B>PARISSE </B>— In accordance with the wishes of Carmella "Lena" Falvo Parisse, who died Friday, Dec. 14, 2007, there will be no public visitation. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Patrick Church, Franklin, with the Rev. Robert Manning officiating.
