Charles A. Hartle Sr.
Charles A. Hartle Sr., 96, of Boyers, died Friday morning at his home.
Born Oct. 7, 1920, in Clarion, Pa., he was a son of the late William J. Hartle and Anna E. Fiscus Hartle.
Charles owned and operated Hartle's Refuse Service in the Butler area for 20 years, retiring in 1975. He was a member of St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church, was on their Parish Council and was a member of the Holy Name Society.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the United States Army.
Surviving are his five sons, Charles (Rochelle) Hartle Jr. of Boyers, Ken (Cheryl) Hartle of Chicora, John (Gayle) Hartle of Florida, Dennis (Joanne) Hartle of Butler and Robert (Becky) Hartle of Butler; 21 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine H. Morrissey Hartle, who died in 1985; a daughter, Linda Slater; eight brothers and a sister.
HARTLE — Friends of Charles A. Hartle Sr., who passed away Friday, Nov. 11, 2016, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St.A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church, 210 St. Wendelin Road. The Rev.
