Jared McKinley Schaney

Jared McKinley Schaney, 39, of Butler passed away surrounded with love from his family Monday, after a prolonged illness.

Jared entered the world June 4, 1977, in Butler, as the son of George Schaney and Zema Miller Schaney.

Jared was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, hiking, fishing and camping, especially with his sons and family. Jared was honored as an Eagle Scout by Troop 5. He went on to graduate high school from Butler High School in 1996. He continued his education by graduating from New Castle School of Trades as a welder.

Jared was proud to be a member of the Iron Workers Union as a tradesman. Above all, he was a devoted father, brother and son.

Jared was a child of the First English Lutheran Church of Butler and a member of St. Ferdinand's Parish of Cranberry.

In addition to his parents, Jared is survived by his previous wife, Lisa Stuebgen Schaney; his two sons, Clark Robert Schaney and Oliver Raymond Schaney; his four sisters, Mary Kirsten Schaney, Meghann Schaney Chapman, Jessica Schaney Kamerer and Janine Schaney Briggs; two nieces; and four nephews. He also will be missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

SCHANEY — Family and friends of Jared McKinley Schaney, who died Monday, Sept. 12, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., Butler, with the Rev. Kimberly van Driel, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow the service at the South Side Cemetery in Butler.In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the First English Lutherlyn Scholarships, 241 N.
