Loretta Mae Evans

Loretta Mae Evans, 67, of Petrolia passed away Thursday at ACMH Hospital.

She was born Feb. 6, 1947, in Brush Valley, the daughter of Jess and Twyla (Peterman) Fairman.

Loretta graduated from United Joint High School in Armagh and was a resident of the Petroleum Valley for more than 40 years. She dedicated her life to caring for her family and was a member of Crisswell Bible Baptist Church.

Bowling and reading were two of her favorite hobbies and she loved searching for treasures at flea markets and garage sales. Family was paramount in her life and she especially cherished the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren. Loretta will be greatly missed by her family and friends and will be best remembered for being a sweet little old lady.

She will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 48 years, James Evans, who she married Jan. 8, 1966; her daughters, Sharen Wolfe and her husband, William, of Chicora and Shelby Young and her husband, Roman, of Cowansville; her grandchildren, Kacie Wolfe, Dakota Wolfe, Legacy Young and Jaxon Young; her brother, Nelson Fairman of York; and her sister, Rose Mack and her husband, Jess, of Apollo.

Loretta was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Earl, Clark and Dick Fairman; and her sister, Ruby Strong.

EVANS — Relatives and friends of Loretta Mae Evans, who died Thursday, July 3, 2014, may visit from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 102 S. Argyle St., Petrolia.Additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana, Pa.Contributions may be made in Loretta's memory to the American Diabetes Association, Pittsburgh Chapter, 100 West Station Square Drive, Suite 1900, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
