Buffalo taxes to rise slightly

BUFFALO TWP — Residents of the county's southeasternmost township will likely see a slight millage increase in 2019.

Ron Zampogna, chairman of the township board of supervisors, said the millage rate will rise from 4.38 to 5.5 around the first of the year if the preliminary $2.3 million 2019 budget is passed in a final version in December.

It would mark the first tax increase in the township in about six years.

The final budget that includes the 1.12-mill increase is expected to be voted on at the Dec. 12 supervisors meeting.

The preliminary version was passed unanimously by the supervisors in November.
