Donald J. “Pete” Shrum, Jr., 59, of Butler passed away at 10:29 a.m. Friday at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.

He was born Sept. 23, 1956, in Natrona Heights to the late Donald J. Shrum, Sr. and Janice M. (Wolfe) Shrum.

Pete was a mechanic at Jack's Ford in Sarver. He enjoyed the challenge of working on cars, and Fords were his vehicle of choice.

He was an outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.

He is survived by one sister, Cassie Burkert, and her husband, Jim, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; one niece, Janice Mess, and her husband, Kenton; and two nephews, Roger Burkert and Robert Burkert.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Michael G. Shrum.

SHRUM — Friends of Donald J. “Pete” Shrum Jr., who died Friday, May 13, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jeff Lawther of the Mars Alliance Church officiating.
