FREEPORT — Freeport Peace Links will sponsor the 22nd annual Lantern Festival: Lanterns of Hope for World Peace from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Riverside Park in Freeport. The festival is planned in memory of those who lost their lives in war.The event will include dancing, face-painting, singing, refreshments and other activities.For more information, call 724-224-7073.

HARMONY — The Harmony Aglow Lighthouse will hold a community potluck picnic at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Zion Lutheran Church picnic shelter, 557 Perry Hwy. Participants are asked to take a dish to pass.

SAXONBURG — The Saxonburg District Woman's Club will hold an informational meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Saxonburg Memorial Church basement on Main and Rebecca streets. The meeting is open to women from the Saxonburg area who are interested in the club.Class of '48 to hold reunionThe Butler High School class of 1948 will hold its 60th reunion Aug. 23. Those who did not receive an invitation or would like to attend are asked to call 724-287-3618 by Thursday.

The following reunions will take place in the coming weeks:• Marburger family reunion, 1 p.m. Aug. 10, Marburger Dairy, Mars-Evans City Road. Participants should take table service, a covered dish and a $2 bingo prize.• Barger 97th family reunion, 3 p.m. Aug. 9, Pine Township Building in Grove City. Members should take a covered dish and Barger memorabilia.

The Junior Women's Club of Butler will hold a summer new member social at 7 p.m. Aug. 13 at Hollie Stevenson's home, 114 Aubrey Drive.Members should R.S.V.P. by Wednesday to Sue Shewalter-Brown at 724-997-0348 or sueshewalter@hotmail.com.

SLIPPERY ROCK — The Friendship Parish will host its 6th annual pig roast and praise celebration from 4 to 8 p.m. Aug. 9 at the Wolf Creek Presbyterian Church on Route 108, four miles west of SlipperyRock.The event will include gospel music by Country Vision, Allegheny Boys and In Transition. The Tamarack Cloggers also will be featured.Tickets are available at the event.
