Slippery Rock University will host the 2008 NCAADivision IIMen's and Women's Cross Country Championships Nov. 22 at Cooper's Lake.

The 2007 event is Nov. 17 at Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Mo.

Slippery Rock University senior center Glenn Reepmeyer has been named second team All-PSAC West for the second time in three years. He did not play basketball last season so he could concentrate on water polo.Reepmeyer averaged 12.8 points and 8.9 rebounds per game this season. He had 25 blocked shots as well.

Butler graduate Kim Nowakowski, a junior center on the California (Pa.)University women's basketball team, was named Daktronics all-region first team.Nowakowski led the Vulcans to a 21-9 record and their seventh consecutive trip to the PSACchampionship game. She led Cal with 16.6 points and 11.1 rebounds per game.

Butler Catholic's seventh- and eighth-grade boys basketball team won its first playoff game recently, defeating St. Thomas More 67-31.The Saints went 12-0 in section play and are the No. 1 seed in the diocesan playoffs. Their next game is at 5 p.m., Saturday vs. St. Bernadette at Central Catholic High School.
