Kevin D. Currie
Kevin D. Currie, 55, of 122 Mourning Dove Drive, Slippery Rock, passed away at 9 p.m. Friday at his home.
Kevin was born in New Castle on June 9, 1959, to Ralph H. and the late Helen J. Glenn Currie.
He was a 1977 graduate of Slippery Rock High School. He then graduated from Clarion University and later earned his master’s degree from Slippery Rock University.
Kevin was employed at Slippery Rock University as the director of residence life.
He was a member of the St. Peter Parish in Slippery Rock. He was also a member of The Association of College and University Housing Officers and the National Association of College Auxiliary Services. Kevin also belonged to the WHJ O’Donnell Division 1 of The A.O.H. in Butler.
Kevin enjoyed music and traveling with his wife and close friends, Bruce and Vicky.
He is survived at home by his wife, Mary Ellen Scanlon Currie, who he married on July 1, 1989, and his son, Ryan Patrick Currie, also of Slippery Rock; his father, Ralph H. (Marjorie) Currie of Portersville; his sister, Mary Jane Currie of Slippery Rock; and his brother, Brian Currie of Suffolk, Va.
Kevin was preceded in death by his mother, Helen J. Glenn Currie.

Currie, who passed away Friday, July 18, 2014, will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the St. Peter Parish Center (Newman Center), 342 Normal Ave., Slippery Rock.An A.O.H. prayer service will follow at 7 p.m.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church conducted by the Rev. Kevin Poecking, pastor. A Rite of Committal and burial will follow in Mt.
