Joan and Joseph Tomsey

Joseph and Joan Tomsey of Summit Township celebrated 70 years of marriage with a family dinner at their home.

Tomsey married the former Joan Steighner on June 17, 1953, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Summit Township.

They have four children, Joe (Peggy) Tomsey Jr., Judy (Joe) Mohan, Jim (Karen) Tomsey and Janice (Tony) Mercatell, all of Butler.

They also have 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Tomsey is retired from Agway in Butler.

He is a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II.

Mrs. Tomsey is retired from Summit Academy.

The Tomseys are members of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in the St. Francis of Assisi Parish.
