Officials probe cause of barn fire
WASHINGTON TWP — Fire officials are investigating what started a weekend blaze that badly damaged a large barn in the township.
The fire was reported shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday in the 1500 block of Branchton Road. More than a half dozen fire departments were there for more than two hours. No one was injured.
The tenants at the rental home said the barn is used for storage. They said the house was never jeopardized by the fire.
Departments that helped battle the blaze included North Washington, Marion Township, Eau Claire. West Sunbury, Petrolia, Bruin and Oneida Valley.
Calls to several of those departments were not returned this morning.
