LeRoy T. Henry

LeRoy T. Henry, 83, of Butler passed away Wednesday at the Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia.

Born March 7, 1933, in Butler, he was the son of Troy Henry and Grace Shearer Henry.

LeRoy served in the U.S. Army for two years during the Korean War and was in the Army Reserves for eight years.

He worked as a service manager for Culligan Water Conditioning for 40 years.

He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Cabot, where he was a former elder, superintendent and teacher. He was a life member of the Saxonburg American Legion Post 683, where he was past commander. He was a longtime member of the Tanglewood Center, where he volunteered for square dancing and bingo. He also volunteered at the Butler Farm Show. He enjoyed square dancing, bowling and calling bingo.

Surviving are his wife, Helen (Reith) Henry, who he married Aug. 30, 1956; three sons, Duane Henry of Latrobe, Ron (Cindy) Henry of Albuquerque, N.M., and Jim (Jeanne Walters) Henry of Cabot; his daughter, Joyce (Scott) Emmel of Butler; two brothers, Russell (Virginia) Henry of Renfrew and Eugene (Carol) Henry of Butler; his sister, Nancy Terwilliger of Butler; four grandchildren, Todd Henry, Elisabeth Henry, Jaime Emmel and William Emmel; several step-grandchildren; and step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Jean Morris.

HENRY — Friends of LeRoy T. Henry, who died Wednesday, April 20, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Fox Funeral Home, Saxonburg.Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Matthew Barry officiating.
