As of January, Beth Ziegler has been elected the new president of the Mars Planet Foundation.

“For those of you who aren’t super familiar with what we do, we have two main roles,” Ziegler said. “We fund teacher grants for innovative concepts that the teachers want to implement in their classrooms that are outside of the normal curriculum, and we fund and manage scholarships.”

The Mars Planet Foundation is a volunteer-based nonprofit in the district, founded in 2009.
