2 caught with suspected crack cocaine

State police arrested two women Sunday night after allegedly finding more than three ounces of crack cocaine hidden behind the glove box of a vehicle.

Rose M. Comly, 53, of Butler, and Derenda L. Diggs, 43, of Columbus, Ohio, were arrested for the suspected drugs, which were found during a traffic stop at 5:13 p.m. Sunday on the 1100 block of North Main Street extension in Butler Township.Both were charged with felony possession with intent to sell and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Diggs additionally was charged with possession of a controlled substance.Following their arraignments, they were taken to Butler County Prison, where they are being held in lieu of $25,000 bond each.According to charging documents, police stopped a 2020 Hyundai Veloster because they saw it cross the fog line multiple times.Police said Comly was the driver, Diggs was the passenger and Comly gave officers permission to search the vehicle.

“Located behind the glove box was two green zip-lock bags containing approximately 90 grams of suspected crack cocaine,” said the investigating officer.Police said Diggs also revealed a number of controlled substances and paraphernalia she had with her.“Diggs also removed from her bra a metal crack pipe, two packages of Suboxone, two white pieces of paper containing suspected fentanyl and a dollar bill rolled up with white powder residue,” police said.Comly and Diggs are scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing June 17 before District Judge Kevin O'Donnell.Comly has two other pending cases in the Butler County Court of Common Pleas, both with scheduled court events this month.Both of those cases involved drug offenses, and she was released on her own recognizance in each case.
