Bucs fall to Royals, 7-3
Adalberto Mondesi returned from the injured list to hit a two-run home run and Michael Taylor doubled home a run in the bottom of the eighth to pad the Kansas City lead to help the Royals to a 7-3 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates Monday night.
Mike Minor got the win, striking out seven in six inning of work. Three relieves combined to pitch one-hit ball over the final three innings.
Chad Kuhn got the loss in his first start back off the IL.
He lasted just four innings, striking out five.
Kuhl hadn’t pitched since April 18 and made two rehab starts before returning to the Pirates.
Bryan Reynolds homered in the top of the eighth to cut the Kansas City lead to 5-3, but the Royals scored twice in the bottom of the frame for insurance.
Adam Frazier went 1-for-4 and is hitting .332 on the season.
