On Aug. 20, two Lawrence County men allegedly teamed up to pummel another man during a party at a home in Slippery Rock Township. The alleged assault left the victim with a broken nose.

The defendants — Charles D. Barnes, 21, and Willie R. Holland IV, 21, both of New Castle — are both charged with simple assault and harassment.

The victim, Michael Whittington, told police that while attending a party at the home, a fight broke out involving several people. He said after he stepped in to try and stop the fight, Barnes and Holland hit him in the face several times, according to court documents.
